Mission

Why we built CEV?

We started with a simple mission to provide organizations with actionable insights and remediations to defend against the real-world attack techniques used by hackers and pentesters.

At CEV, our goal is to make sure the information is valuable and insightful for all cybersecurity teams—Blue Teams, IT Teams, GRC, and Red Teams—ensuring every team can benefit from the information, while avoiding content that’s only meaningful to Red Team professionals.

Red teamers and pentesters use references like hacktricks, hacker recipes & ired.team that guides them on specific attack techniques that are not CVEs. These websites primarily go into the details how to perform the attack using appropriate tools & techniques with little focus on the remediation.

However, for cybersecurity teams other than red teams there no central reference for vulnerabilities that are not CVEs but are commonly used by attackers. By adopting Threat Informed defense approach and by focusing on business impact & remediation of the vulnerabilities, CEV aims to be the reference for all teams.
